Chili Instructions - My usual style
Chili Instructions - My usual style
Ingredients:
Purchase each time- Ground turkey (~$3)
- 2 cans of beans - black, red, kidney, pinto ($1.50)
- 1 can of corn ($.89)
- 1 can of whole tomatoes ($1.33)
- Onion ($.50)
Re-use
- Red wine ($3)
- Cumin ($4.50)
- Chili powder ($3)
- Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce ($1.50)
Instructions:
- Saute the onion (dice it first) and add the ground turkey.
- Drain the water out of the turkey. Turn the heat down to med-low for a slow simmer
- Pour in some red wine - probably a glass or so
- Crush the whole tomatoes by hand and add them. Also add the corn and beans (drain the beans first)
- Finely dice 2-3 chipotle peppers and add them
- Add a tablespoon or so of cumin, and 2-3 tablespoons of chili powder - all to taste.
- Let everything simmer for at least 30 minutes

Ingredients:
Purchase each time- Ground turkey (~$3)

- 1 can of stewed tomatoes ($1.33)
- 1 bag of chopped walnuts ($~3)
- Onion ($.50)
- Red wine ($3)
- Cumin ($4.50)
- Chili powder ($3)
- Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce ($1.50)
Instructions:
- Put the walnuts in a baking sheet and roast them in the oven. I just did 325° for about 10-15 minutes.
